Tattered Canvas by: Bhim Pandya
The tale of Michael and Angela
Art at the Art store
18" x 24"?
maybe too small love
36" x 48" ?
maybe too big love
30" x 40"?
maybe the right size love
Enough for two people to paint
Warm and cool colors Love?
I like to be in nature love
In a Wheatfield with cypresses then?
We can sit there and eat potatoes love...
Or on the terrace of a café love?
Under the starry night looking for shooting stars in the irises
Past the stroke of midnight
Actually a full hour and forty three minutes past the stroke of midnight
Lets create a Van Gogh love
And we can whisper and hear for we both have ears
I am warm and ready to go
I am cool and ready to go
A roll from here, to and fro
Water and color, warm and cool
Coming together on a canvas
A warm here and a stroke there
A roll there and a cool here
Dipping and stroking covering the canvas
Riiiiippppppppppp...
At last, out of paint and complete
The canvas love
What happened love?
The canvas love
What happened love?
It Tattered...
What is this poem about?
It is about two artists who are in love with art and... They purchase a giant canvas and decide to paint together. As artists, they possess individual artistic preferences. While one likes to use paint brushes the other a roller, one cool colors, the other warm. In their effort to paint a picture, they end up tearing the canvas apart. It is supposed to be funny.
